WEDDING CAKES
Congratulations! You said "YES" - now it's time to pick out a beautiful cake for your beautiful event.
There is much planning to do and your big day will be here before you know it. Your cake is an exciting part of the process and will be the focal point of your celebration. Creating your dream cake is important to us and we will work with you to design a cake that will be both memorable and beautiful. We would be honored to be a small part of your big day.
What are the first steps for ordering a wedding cake?
Fill out the Order Form and include any design ideas & inspiration. Turtles Bakeree will follow up with you within 24 hours and we can handle preliminary questions, availability and pricing through email or phone. I also offer FaceTime consultations.
How are tiered cake sizes figured?
The desired number of servings is the base calculation. Turtles Bakeree will offer tier size suggestions based on your anticipated guest count. Each serving is approximately 4 1/2” H x 1” W x 2” L Cake cutting instructions will be left when the cake is delivered.
Deposit:
A 50% non-refundable Save-the-Date retainer is required to secure your date and order. When you receive your quote from Turtles Bakeree, it is valid for 30 days. We will gladly make any changes to your order for a period of thirty (30) days prior to your event date. The remaining balance is due no later than 14 days prior to your event date.
Flavors:
Choose any flavors from our Menu. Each tier will include 4 layers of cake and 3 layers of filling. You may choose different flavors for each tier if desired.
Delivery/Setup:
Delivery is included on all wedding cake orders,. An additional fee may occur depending on distance and road terrain. The cake will be delivered approximately one hour before your guests arrive. This is to ensure that the cake, flowers, and other ornaments are fresh and undisturbed by the reception set-up. Cake cutting instructions will be provided. .
For outdoor receptions, we prefer to deliver these cakes as close as possible to the time guests arrive—especially if the weather is very hot—or even during the cocktail hour if it is not located in the same area as the dinner. Placement is the most important thing to consider when having a cake outdoors. It is critical to have the cake placed where it will get no direct sunlight to preserve the integrity of the cake/buttercream.
Complimentary First Anniversary Cake:
As a special thanks for choosing us, Turtles Bakeree is proud to offer a complimentary first anniversary cake to couples who have booked their wedding cakes with us. Cakes are 5" in size and can be made in any flavor from your wedding cake order. Turtles Bakeree will contact you 2-3 weeks prior to your anniversary to coordinate the details and delivery date. A first anniversary is a milestone to be celebrated - and you deserve better than one year old, freezer-burned cake!
Tastings:
Cake tastings are available upon request. Couples may choose 3 cake, filling, and frosting combinations from our Menu and they will be baked as mini cakes. Due to Covid restrictions, we are not offering in-person tastings at this time, so we will create your personalized tasting in a pastry box that can be picked up from Turtles Bakeree.
If the couple has already paid the Save-the-Date retainer, the tasting is free. If the couple has not yet paid a retainer, the tasting costs $50 and is due 10 days prior to the pick-up date. This charge will be deducted from the final price of the wedding cake if the couple chooses Turtles Bakeree to create their wedding cake.
Floral Options:
Fresh flowers can add a beautiful and cohesive look to your cake. The flowers need to be treated prior to being added to the cake, therefore, your florist will need to deliver the flowers to Turtles Bakeree within 24 hours of the cake delivery date and time. Some flowers are not safe to place on an edible cake. You and your florist will be responsible for making the proper selections.
Sugar flowers have some advantages over fresh flowers: they don't need to be treated, color-matching is precise, they can be easily manipulated to the design direction, and they never wilt. However, the time involved with creating these stunning works of art is extensive, and are priced accordingly.
